The City and Town of Lockport, NY quite literally grew from the banks of that nineteenth century engineering marvel, the
Erie Canal. Today, Lockport is a friendly community with rich, historic roots. We seek to blend the old with the new to preserve the past as well as move ahead with the changing times.

Lockport, New York is located in the center of Niagara County approximately 18 miles east of Niagara Fall USA.

Lockport's business community is diverse and prosperous. There are more than 50 manufacturing firms in Lockport and over 850 retail and commercial establishments in the town and city of Lockport combined.

Main Street in our City is currently being renovated. Historic-type
light fixtures, courtyards, and building facelifts are being planned. Our Town continues to bring in new businesses and restaurants to service our community, while planning carefully to keep the green spaces that we enjoy.

Erie Canal Flight of Five Locks

The Flight of Five, Erie Canal Locks #67-71, is the premier structure from the 1835-era widening of the Erie Canal that remains intact and is located within the operating waterway of the current New York State Canal System.
