TOWN WATER DEPARTMENT
Water bills are sent out every three months. If your property has sanitary sewer service (not septic), your water bill will also include a sewer processing fee of $25.00. This is a flat rate that will be charged on each water bill. This charge is to cover the cost of processing the sewage that is sent to the filtration plants.

It is the policy of the Town of Lockport to re-levy any overdue unpaid water/sewer balances to the following year's county/town tax bill on October 20th.

The Town Water Department is currently in the process of upgrading our meter reading system. This means that we will be replacing many of the older style meters throughout the town. The result of this new system will be an increase in productivity and accuracy.

If your meter has not been upgraded, please call to schedule an appointment (439.9529). It will only take about 20 minutes for us to complete our work. It is important that we upgrade all meters in the Town for the new system to work most efficiently.

TOWN SEWER DEPARTMENT
The Town Sewer Department is conducting sanitary sewer inspections on all homes that have sewer service in the Town of Lockport. The program is on a revolving five-year schedule. This means that we will inspect each home every five years. Surprisingly, people do re-arrange their plumbing so that groundwater runs into the sewer system when they have drainage problems. The purpose of these inspections is to eliminate all groundwater from flowing into the sanitary sewer system. By eliminating any extraneous flows, we will greatly reduce our sewer processing costs.

The Town must submit a report on each sewer service to the State to confirm that we are in compliance with this code.
